Our job is to help you love your clothes and your closet
WHO AM I: Before I tell you who I am, let me start by telling you who I am not. I am not the person who is going to put you in clothes that like you, but you don't like back. I will not force you to buy clothes that are out of your budget (in fact I LOVE a good deal). I will not criticize your past clothes choices or put you in styles without telling you why they work.
I will however, help you find your ideal style and show you exactly which shapes and cuts to try and which to avoid. I will also help you shop for a closet of clothes that will multitask flawlessly so you never have to worry about what to wear (or how to wear it).
WHY I DO WHAT I DO: When I started Your Shop Girl in 2008 I wanted to ensure it reflected my style philosophy; it is simple, we focus on educating and empowering you to help curate a closet full of clothes you will actually wear and love.
BACKGROUND: It all started over a decade ago when in an effort to combine my instincts with instruction once I completed my undergrad at the University of Toronto, I became a graduate of George Brown’s Image Consulting program. My thirst for knowledge lead me to the centre of fashion itself – Paris, France, where I studied at the Sorbonne University; then onto New York to conquer the Fashion Institute of Technology
WHO AM I: With four kids and a busy household, I am someone who understands the importance of being able to get out the door quickly while still feeling my best. I believe that looking good is not about age, shape, or budget, it's about understanding what's right for you.
WHY I DO WHAT I DO: I understand the power of a great outfit to transform how we feel about ourselves. And, more importantly, I love helping women feel fantastic!
Whether you’re shopping for a specific reason, season, event, photo shoot, or you’re just ready for a style
overhaul, I can help you find exactly what you are looking for (and make sure you feel great in it!). It’s all about you, your style, your needs, and your budget.
MY BACKGROUND: My previous work experience spans over a decade working in public relations. After taking time off to raise my family, and relocating several times across the country, I decided to pursue my true passion – helping women look and feel their best. I know what it’s like to make multiple transitions, and how our style evolves and changes to reflect who we are at every stage in our life.
I re-entered the work force as a personal stylist in the high-end retail industry prior to joining the Your Shop Girl team. With more than 10 years in the industry, Suzanne has passed along her extensive knowledge through intensive one-on-one training in all aspects of image consulting. I’ve also completed online training with UK-based members of the International Federation of Image Consultants. I have an honours degree in English Literature from the University of Western Ontario, a post-graduate degree in Corporate Communications.
WHO I AM: I was born in Jamaica before emigrating to Toronto with my family in 1991. I watched my parents work hard to provide for my older brother and I. They instilled great values in us, which has made me the
woman I am today. In addition to style coaching, I am a trained Occupational Therapist. I often get
asked what O.T. and style coaching have in common; In both roles I get to empower people through education and
encouragement which is really where my passion lies.
WHY I DO WHAT I DO:
Whether you are looking for an outfit for a special occasion or less casual “casual Friday” attire, I am fantastic at helping you understand what works best for your body shape and colour. I am also Your Shop Girl’s resident men’s clothing expert; but I am also here for all you ladies, since I love sourcing everyday pieces for women looking to 2.0 their wardrobe.
WHO I AM: Having spent over 10 years as a personal trainer helping people get fit and feel great about themselves from the inside out, I finally decided to step away from the fitness industry after having two kids just over 3 years ago. I loved making my clients feel amazing and giving them the tools to change their lives for the better. I missed this aspect of my job dearly so I decided to put this into action from another, but equally important perspective. Having known for years that I loved style and fashion, I got my online certification as an image consultant through New York's Fashion Institute of Technology.
My passion lies in the educational aspect, the HOWS and WHYS, of putting together the perfect outfit. I want to share with you my lifelong tools so that you’ll never have to stare blankly into a closet full of clothes wondering what on earth to wear. I will be your trusted friend who can help you feel great on the outside and as a result make you feel incredible on the inside too.
Here’s how we show you how to love your style and your clothes
Once you book you will receive a questionnaire to fill out. This tells us where you would like to meet and what we should focus on during your session.
We meet! And shop or cleanse your closet. But no matter what we are doing we are helping you understand why we are doing it!
We send you a summary with all the information we went over! Have questions? That is what step four is for...
We follow up to ensure you are staying on track and to go over any questions you have. Once you are a Your Shop Girl client once, you are a client for life.
