Toronto Boutique Feature: Want

Last week the Your Shop Girl team got together for another “staff meeting” (aka. Toronto shopping adventure). This time we headed to the Avenue road for an afternoon of educational shopping. After a great visit at Parpar boutique on Avenue Road, (another amazing store stocked with endless amounts of high end streetwear) we were lucky enough to be greeted by the owner, Pari, at Want Boutique. Also located on Avenue Road, Want is a women’s boutique that carries clothing from casual to dressy, and also carries a multitude of shoes and accessories.   What we really loved about this store was it’s great selection of dresses. The problem with many big box stores is that the dress selection only caters to one or two types of bodies, and can often carry a limited amount of sizes. This boutique in particular carried various cuts and sizes to suit a variety of body shapes from 0-16.  On top of the amazing clothing and accessories, the reason Want is a boutique we wish to highlight is because of the additional services they offer. Want, like many other boutiques in Toronto, also takes personal styling appointments, and sometimes open their store for private shopping nights (we just may be planning one ourselves!). As image consultants, we love boutiques that offer these kinds of services since this above and beyond service is one of the reasons why this boutique has been here for 20 years (and will be here for many more). Working one-on-one with clients or small groups allows people to acquire the skills and education they need to create a sustainable, multifunctional wardrobe that can function on a day-to-day basis. It is also just so much more fun to shop small! We are so lucky to live in a city that provides us with unique shopping experiences, great pieces, and most of all, allows us to support our local businesses.  Email us at imheretohelp@www.yourshopgirl.com  or comment on Instagram tell us about your favourite Toronto boutique!
